HANAUMA BAY SONIC TRACKING STUDY NUGGET GETS TAG DATA DOWNLOAD Visit the Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve Web Site

Alan is pointing out the tags attached to Nuggets right side On Tuesday, 2/13/07, we joined forces (Hanauma Bay Staff and Volunteers, NMFS staff and HPA) to make another day trip to capture and tag Hanauma Bay Honu. Of course, one of our objectives was to capture Nugget and download the TDR tag. Fortunately, George Balazs saw Nugget early on and made a picture perfect capture to bring Nugget back in to get weighed, measured and downloaded. Nugget appeared to be in very good condition and handled the short side-trip very well. We downloaded the data from the tag and did a little bit of fiberglass repair work on the tag. Nugget appears to have been bumping around the rocks a bit and caused a little damage to our earlier "glassing job."
